Kato Excavator

Presenting The Kato Excavator

A Kato excavator, just like many other excavators or diggers, is used to dig, move and transport loose gravel or soil within a short span of time. This engineering vehicle is often used in demolition projects, trench digging, lifting and transporting construction materials and in general landscaping. There are many types and sizes of Kato excavator available in the market today. In addition, mobile cranes and other construction and industrial equipment such as sweepers and earth boring machines are also offered by the Kato Company to its market of an estimated 120 countries from all parts of the world.

The Kato excavator has been available to the market since 1968. Then, it was marketed in Australia and has since sold thousands of units. Like common compact or mini excavators, its mechanism is controlled by hydraulic fluid. The components of this construction equipment and its blade are activated only when hydraulic fluid acts upon the hydraulic cylinders.

The Kato excavator consists of four major parts and these are the house, undercarriage, work group and the backfilled blade. The house is that part where the operator takes a seat. This can usually be found above the undercarriage and consists of the hydraulic pump, engine compartment and distribution components. It is connected to the undercarriage through a swing bearing. This part is highly flexible since the hydraulic distribution valve supplies oil to undercarriage components. The undercarriage, meanwhile, is that part of the Kato excavator comprised of the tracks or wheels, drive sprockets, idlers, rollers and other similar components. This part is considered the core of this construction equipment. This works with the work group and the house structure allowing these parts to move and change positions. Finally, the work group comprises of the dipper or arm, boom and the attachment. Usually, this attachment takes the form of a bucket. The boom is that part that can be found on the front of the house structure. This part of the Kato excavator is connected to the other parts through a swing frame that allows this part to be moved to either left or right sides. This type of excavator also has a backfill blade which stabilizes this equipment when it is used for digging. Moreover, this feature allows the adjustment of the digging depth and dumping height to make the construction work more convenient for the person operating this machine.

Generally, excavators are used to dig trenches and foundations, to handle construction materials, to brush cut using hydraulic attachments, to demolish structures, to do landscaping, to lift and transport heavy pipes, to dredge rivers and to aid in mining operations. Moreover, they come in different sizes and types and are manufactured by different companies. There are many kinds of excavators and these are the following: compact excavator, dragline excavator, bucket-wheel excavator, long-reach excavator, long front excavator and hydraulic excavator. Aside from Kato, other excavator manufacturing companies are Hitachi Construction Machinery, Telco Construction Equipment Company, Caterpillar Inc., Volvo Construction Equipment, JCB Excavators Ltd. and Komatsu Company.
